HC Deb 16 July 1930 vol 241 cc1272-3
42. Mr. HOFFMAN (for Mr. CECIL WILSON)

asked the Minister of Transport whether any statistics of road accidents are available in his Department; and, if so, whether he will detail them for the most recent week or month?

Mr. CHARLES EDWARDS (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to reply. The latest available statistics for the whole country are those for the year 1929 and are contained in the Home Office Return, dated 9th May, 1930, which is published as a White Paper. A statement has also been issued by the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis on street accidents within the Metropolitan Police area during the quarter ending 31st March, 1930. I am forwarding a copy of this statement to my hon. Friend.
