HC Deb 16 July 1930 vol 241 cc1269-70
34. Sir K. WOOD

asked the Minister of Transport whether any progress has recently been made with the Liverpool Street station scheme?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Mr. Herbert Morrison)

I am informed by the London and North Eastern Railway Company that they are not yet in a position to make any further announcement in reference to this scheme.

Sir K. WOOD

Can the hon. Gentleman say, since he has taken this matter in hand, whether he has checked the estimate of the late Chancellor of the Duchy as to the many millions of money to be spent on this scheme?

Mr. MORRISON

No. That does not appear to me to be necessary.
