§ 35. Mr. D. G. SOMERVILLEasked the Home Secretary whether the Metropolitan police intend, after the passage of the Road Traffic Bill, to continue the system of first warnings to motorists for all minor offences without immediately proceeding to prosecution.
§ Mr. CLYNESUnder the present system, the warning, as an alternative to prosecution for minor offences, is not given automatically, but each case is considered on its merits. There is no intention at present to alter the system.
