HC Deb 01 July 1930 vol 240 c1773
45. Sir PHILIP RICHARDSON

asked the Prime Minister if he can make any statement as to the composition of the joint committee which is to consider the Government statement on closer union in East Africa, and the terms of reference?

The PRIME MINISTER

It has now been decided, in view of the short time remaining, not to seek the appointment this Session of a joint committee to consider the question of closer union in East Africa. The question of the appointment of the proposed committee will, however, be brought forward at the earliest possible opportunity next Session.
