HC Deb 27 January 1930 vol 234 c599
35. Mr. A. M. SAMUEL

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether he can see his way to issue a request to exhibitors at the British Industries Fair at Olympia that they should place their exhibits in charge of skilled salesmen to whom authority to make contracts of sale has been given?

Mr. GILLETT

Although I understand that the majority of exhibitors do at present place their exhibits in the charge of skilled salesmen in view of the importance of the matter, I shall be glad to issue a letter on the lines suggested by the hon. Member.

Mr. HANNON

May I ask whether the hon. Member is aware that at Birmingham every salesman is a thoroughly skilled person?
