Dr. FORGANasked the Minister of Transport whether he will take steps to expedite the introduction of electric light in the area of West Renfrewshire covered by the powers given to the Clyde Valley Electrical Power Company, particularly in the Kilbarchan and Milliken Park district that have not yet been furnished with any such supply?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONThe authorised distributors for the West Renfrewshire area, namely, the Strath-clyde Electricity Supply Company, Limited, are already providing supplies in each of the parishes included in the area of supply under their Order of 1925. With regard to the Kilbarchan and Milliken Park district, I understand that the result of a canvass made by the company a few months ago was not regarded as very promising in relation to the capital expenditure required for providing a supply in that district; and that the prospect" of a supply are dependent on housing development at Milliken Park.
