§ 74. Mr. WALKERasked the Minister of Transport whether, in the interests of public safety, he has made representations to the railway companies upon the matter of substituting steel for wood in the construction of passenger rolling stock; and, if so, what progress has been made in this direction?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI have made representations to the railway companies in regard to this matter and under- 2249 stand that they are building a number of steel coaches, the results of which are being carefully watched.
