§ 46. Mr. MANDERasked the Prime Minister if he is prepared to appoint an advisory committee representative of all parties in the House with a view to the solution of the unemployment problem?
Mr. SNOWDENI can add nothing to what has already been said in reply to questions on this subject. At the same time I would remind the hon. Member that, as the Lord Privy Seal has already informed the House, the Government are in close and constant communication with representative persons of every variety of opinion and experience.
§ Mr. MANDERDo I understand that the Government are satisfied with the success attained by their own party alone, so far?
§ Mr. HANNONWill the right hon. Gentleman not take into consultation this monopoly of wisdom in the Liberal party?
Mr. SNOWDENMy right hon. Friend has, I believe, already said that he would be willing to consider representations from the Members to whom the hon. 1145 Member for Moseley (Mr. Hannon) refers, but I understand that no response has yet been made.
§ Mr. MANDERBut does not the right hon. Gentleman think that it is for the Government to take the initiative in this matter?
