HC Deb 18 February 1930 vol 235 cc1149-50
45. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the Prime Minister if he can now make any statement with regard to the Coast Protection Bill?

Mr. SNOWDEN

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to what my right hon. Friend has already said in reply to questions on this subject, there being no change in the situation.

Captain CROOKSHANK

But is not the right hon. Gentleman aware that time is getting on, that it is four months since the Second Reading? Cannot we be told what is going to happen?

Mr. SNOWDEN

My right hon. Friend has nothing to add to the statement which I have just made.

Viscount ELMLEY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that thousands of local authorities throughout the country would be very glad to see this Bill die a natural death?

Mr. SNOWDEN

All those points were dealt with in replies to previous questions, and, as I have said, my right hon. Friend has nothing to add to what was said on those occasions.
