§ 36. Sir B. FALLEasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether, in view of the introduction of compulsory general messing for petty officers and men in shore establishments, the sullage which is the property of the men can be sold for their benefit and the sum realised credited proportionately to each mess fund for disposal as messes consider desirable instead of being spent as at present by the executive officer '?
§ Mr. G. HALLUnder existing arrangements, the proceeds from the sale of sullage are expended generally for the recreation, amusement and well-being of the ratings as a whole, and it is not proposed to interfere with the local administration of these funds.
