HC Deb 03 February 1930 vol 234 c1495
48. Major NATHAN

asked the Prime Minister when he expects the legislation to become operative which will obviate the holding up of housing schemes by reason of the judicial decisions in the so-called Derby and Liverpool eases?

The PRIME MINISTER

A Bill is in preparation and will be introduced as soon as the state of Parliamentary business allows.

Major NATHAN

Has the right hon. Gentleman not observed that my question inquires as to when he expects legislation to become operative?

The PRIME MINISTER

Legislation will become operative when it is passed.

Major NATHAN

Is the Prime Minister able to express any opinion as to the date when legislation will be passed? This is a matter of very great importance to the population of Scotland.

The PRIME MINISTER

I should like to consult both sections of the Opposition.
