HC Deb 04 December 1930 vol 245 c2392
82. Mr. LEES

asked the Minister of Agriculture if he will give particulars, including names and addresses, and qualifications, of all persons appointed to the new catchment boards, specifying his own nominations; and if he will say what arrangements, if any, have been made to secure that the workers, whose interests are concerned, are represented on each of these boards?

Dr. ADDISON

The total number of members of catchment boards will probably exceed a thousand, and my hon. Friend will perhaps agree that it is not necessary to give in the OFTICIAL REPORT a large mass of information which is not of general interest, but I shall be happy to arrange to furnish to him, or to any other hon. Member, a complete list of the members of any catchment board in which he may be specially interested. In all these appointments I keep in mind the desirability of securing the representation of workers.

Mr. LEES

Will the right hon. Gentleman supply the full information asked for in the question which I have put to him?

Dr. ADDISON

I do not think my hon. Friend can have caught my reply.

Mr. LEES

Will the right hon. Gentleman inform the House how many representatives of the working class there are on these boards?

Dr. ADDISON

I will take special care to see that that is done.
