§ Mr. SHORTThis committee was appointed on the 24th June, 1927, and the chairman anticipates that it may be another six months before it can present its report. The long duration of the inquiry is explained by the difficult and complicated nature of the problems before the committee. The solution of these questions has involved a great deal of research, both statistical and medical, and the medical part of the inquiry has not yet been completed.
