HC Deb 03 December 1930 vol 245 cc2227-8
37. Mr. HAYCOCK (for Mr. LOVAT-FRASER)

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies what action the Colonial Office proposes to take on the report of the Aba commission of inquiry with reference to the provincial and native courts in Nigeria?

Dr. SHIELS

It is expected that the observations of the Government of Nigeria on the findings of the Commission of Inquiry into the disturbances of December last at Aba and elsewhere in South Eastern Nigeria will be available in about a fortnight. When they have been considered a statement will be made as to the decision arrived at.
