HC Deb 01 December 1930 vol 245 c1778
16. Sir W. DAVISON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will ascertain from the Joint AngloSoviet Committee, appointed to deal with the claims arising from the compulsory acquisition of the property of British nationals by the Soviet Government, when they expect to be in a positon to take evidence from claimants?

Mr. A. HENDERSON

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to a question by him on Wednesday last, to which I have nothing to add at present.

Sir W. DAVISON

Will the right hon. Gentleman ascertain when the Committee hope to hear the evidence of claimants, as this is a matter of great importance?

Mr. HENDERSON

I realise that it is a matter of great importance, but it would only be a matter of speculation.

Sir W. DAVISON

How often has the main Committee met and how often do they meet in a week?

Mr. HENDERSON

That is another question. If the hon. Gentleman will give me notice, I will give him the particulars.
