HC Deb 29 April 1930 vol 238 c21
56. Mr. HACKING

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Department whether he has yet received a Report from the Chelmsford Committee?

Mr. GILLETT

The answer is in thy negative. I understand that the committee have a number of witnesses still to examine, and it is, therefore, unlikely that their Report will be available for some time to come.

Mr. HACKING

Will the present position be maintained?

Mr. GILLETT

It is not intended to have any change in our policy until we receive the Report of the Chelmsford Committee.
