§ 34. Mr. DAYasked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether his Department have under consideration a series of exhibitions in the leading cities of the Dominions and Colonies for the purpose of promoting the purchase of British goods in the same manner as the British Industries Fair which is organised in England; can he say whether the trade commissioners appointed by his Department have received any instructions to further this object; and will he give particulars?
§ Mr. GILLETT (Secretary, Overseas Trade Department)The possibility of holding the fair, or sections of it, at centres outside this country, and the possibility of organising a travelling fair either in ships or trains, are questions which have been referred to the Chelmsford Committee. Pending the receipt of the Committee's report, no instructions have been sent to trade commissioners.
