HC Deb 09 April 1930 vol 237 cc2153-4
30. Mr. RAMSBOTHAM

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether it is his intention to utilise the opportunity presented by the presence of the Dominion delegates to the Naval Conference in London to discuss the question of revising the contributions of the Dominions to Imperial Naval defence?

Mr. AMMON

No, Sir. A question of this nature would seem to be more appropriate to the agenda of an Imperial Conference.

Captain CROOOKSHANK

May we understand that the real reason is that the Government do not think that it would be tactful to raise this question, considering that they have "pinched" all the contributions for Singapore?
