asked the Prime Minister whether it is proposed to con- duct any inquiry into the circumstances under which advice may be tendered by a Prime Minister as to the exercise of the Royal Prerogative of Dissolution?

The PRIME MINISTER

I see no justification for the institution of such an inquiry as the hon. Member suggests. The constitutional law and practice on the subject may be studied in books of reference which are easily accessible to all Members of this House.

Would it be practicable for Viscount Ullswater's Committee to give consideration to this question, which in certain quarters
