§ 9. Major the Marquess of TITCHFIELDasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will inquire of the Russian Government whether they intend to dissociate themselves from the subversive propaganda of the Comintern against this country?
Mr. A. HENDERSONNo, Sir. The attitude of His Majesty's Government as regards the question of foreign subversive propaganda in this country, by whomsoever conducted, has been made clear, and I do not consider that any further action in the matter, of the kind suggested in the question, is at present either requisite or desirable.
Marquess of TITCHFIELDDid the right hon. Gentleman see the statement made by the Comintern last Saturday that they would go on propaganding against this country?
Marquess of TITCHFIELDWill the right hon. Gentleman make inquiries into this matter? It is very important. Does he not realise that this statement proves that the promises made by the Russian Government are not worth the paper on which they are written?
Marquess of TITCHFIELDMr. Speaker, may I have an answer to my question? This is a very important matter.
§ Mr. SPEAKERIt may be very important, but you cannot get blood out of a stone.
