Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that the signing-on days for out-of-work oil-millers at the Hull Employment Exchange have been Wednesday and Friday for many years, but have recently 2316 been altered to Tuesday and Thursday; that this change has had the effect of depriving these men of benefit for the first week, as the rule has been that they must sign three clear days by Thursday and they now have to wait a fortnight in many cases, thus causing hardship to these insured workers; and if he will cause adjustments to be made so that these men can draw their benefit when unemployed like other workpeople?
