Lords Amendment: In page 48, leave out from the word "apply" in line 20, to the word "with" in line 22.

I beg to move, "That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment."

This Amendment will be of interest to those Members of the House who are concerned about the conditions relating to the compensation of officers who are transferred. In conjunction with the next Amendment—in line 23, at the end, to insert: any of the provisions of this Act relating to the transfer, superannuation, and compensation of officers and any of the provisions of section sixty-three of the Local Government Act, 1894"— it enables the Minister to apply the provisions of this Measure as to the transfer, superannuation and compensation of officers, in connection with any transference of functions from district councils to county councils.
