HC Deb 13 March 1929 vol 226 c1107
13. Mr. KELLY

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will state the number of pensioner clerks employed by the Admiralty, and the number of women clerks employed in the cash department and expenses account department at the home dockyards?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

The number of Pensioner Clerks (all grades) employed by the Admiralty at present is 191. This includes 48 employed on a purely temporary footing. The women employed on the staffs of the Cash and Expense Accounts Departments of the Home Dockyards comprise 32 writing assistants and 8 temporary women clerks.

Mr. KELLY

Is there any reorganisation taking place which means an increase in their numbers?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

No, not that I am aware of.
