§ 2. Mr. WEDGWOOD BENNasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has received any representations from the Robert Gordon's Colleges and the Aberdeen Steam Fishing Vessels Owners' Association relative to the question of the places of examination of officers of the 954 mercantile marine; and what decision he has arrived at?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERRepresentations have been received from the Robert Gordon's Colleges and the Aberdeen Steam Fishing Vessels Owners' Association, and are being carefully considered. A decision will be announced as soon as possible.
§ Mr. BENNWill there be an opportunity for Parliamentary criticism of any decision that is arrived at?
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERI do not think there can be any Parliamentary criticism before a decision is taken, but certainly every representation will be considered in the ordinary way before any decision is arrived at, and then, if any hon. Member wishes to criticise it, it will be in order for him to do so.
§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERI cannot tell.
