§ Sir J. GILMOUR267 applicants have been settled on land settlement schemes initiated during the period referred to. Of these, seven were settled in vacated holdings, and 41 in enlargements. On the 219 new holdings, 125 dwelling houses and 110 steadings are completed, 26 houses and 28 steadings are under construction, 35 houses and 17 steadings are not yet begun, whilst in the other cases, buildings are not required on the holdings.
