§ 33. Mr. WELLOCKasked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the substantial profits being made, it is contemplated to make a further reduction in the charges for beam wireless telegraphic communications?
§ Viscount WOLMERNo general reduction in the charges for beam wireless telegrams is contemplated at present.
§ Mr. WELLOCKWhen the merger gets control of the beam wireless and has to cover profits of decaying cables, will it not then be impossible?
§ Viscount WOLMERIn reply to the first question, I think the hon. Gentleman is entirely in error in that opinion. As regards the question of the hon. Gentleman the Member for North Camberwell (Mr. Ammon), I do not think the Communications Company has actually been formed at this moment. If he wants an answer, perhaps he will put down a question.
§ Viscount WOLMERYes, Sir.
