§ 12. Captain CAZALETasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has yet taken any decisions in regard to the conditions which prevail in the West African Colonial Service; and, if so, can he tell the House what these decisions are?
§ Mr. AMERYNo decisions have yet been come to. My hon. and gallant Friend will realise that this is a matter in which action obviously cannot be taken without full consultation with the Governments of the Colonies concerned.
§ Captain CAZALETIs the right hon. Gentleman not aware that this matter arose 18 months ago?
§ Captain GARRO-JONESIn view of that fact that this matter has been under consideration for at least 12 months, if not for two years, will the right hon. Gentleman tell us how long it takes to get into consultation with these Governments?
