HC Deb 07 March 1929 vol 226 c556
39. Major-General Sir ALFRED KNOX

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the opening of the flat-racing season on the l8th March, he will consider some readjustment of the Betting Duty?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer which I gave on the 19th February last to my hon. Friend the Member for Deritend (Mr. Crooke) in which I said that the various aspects of the Betting Duty were receiving my close attention, but that I was unable at present to make any statement on the matter.
