HC Deb 04 March 1929 vol 226 cc5-6
3. Mr. KELLY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India if he has received a Report from India as to the present situation in the strike at the Sewree depot of the Burma Standard Oil Companies?

Earl WINTERTON

Normal working has been resumed from 19th February in the case of the Standard Oil Company and from 23rd February in the case of the Burma Shell Company.

Mr. KELLY

Can the Noble Lord give us an assurance that the strikers will not be held blameable for the present rise in the price of petrol?

8. Mr. WELLOCK

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the Pathans who were employed in the place of strikers at the oil works concerned in the recent troubles are still in employment at these works?

Earl WINTERTON

I have not this information.
