HC Deb 24 July 1929 vol 230 cc1292-3
51. Sir N. STEWART SANDEMAN

asked the Prime Minister whether it is his intention to continue the appointment of secretary to the Cabinet Office; and, if so, whether it is proposed to make any alteration in his duties?

The PRIME MINISTER

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, and to the second in the negative.

Sir N. STEWART SANDEMAN

May I ask, if it is the case, then, that the secretary of the Cabinet Office still attends Cabinet meetings and makes out the minutes?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am very much obliged for the supplementary question. The statement appeared in some newspaper the other day, and it is absolutely without foundation.
