HC Deb 18 July 1929 vol 230 c611
60. Captain Sir WILLIAM BRASS

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will consider the advisability of setting up a committee to inquire into the use of the cinema as a method of education in our schools, as is the practice in many Continental countries?

Sir C. TREVELYAN

The use of the cinema as a method of education in the schools has been considered on two occasions by the Imperial Education Conference, and was the subject of a report by a committee, of which Lord Gorell was Chairman, in 1924. I am, however, disposed to think that there is a case for a further examination of the question, and I am considering what steps can be taken with that object in view.
