§ Sir G. COURTHOPEThe Forestry Commissioners have acquired land in the Neath Valley and planting operations are proceeding. They are acquiring 1137 additional land in that valley and in Swansea Valley. No land has been acquired in Afan Valley owing mainly to the existence of common rights. The Commissioners are aware of the character of the land and regret that there are unemployed workers in these areas.
