asked the Minister of Health the number of subsidy houses built in England and Wales during 1928 and the number built by private enter prise?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The number of subsidy houses built in England and Wales during the year ended 31st December, 1928, was 104,335, of which 46,628 were built by private enterprise. In addition there were 64,62–1 houses built by private enterprise without State assistance during the twelve months ended 30th September.

Are; these figures in accordance with the official anticipation, or not?

I did not know that there was any official anticipation.

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether any of the houses built by private enterprise were houses to let?
