HC Deb 24 January 1929 vol 224 cc329-30
47. Major OWEN

asked the Prime Minister whether he proposes to allow time during the present Session of Parliament for the passing into law of the Reservoirs (Safety Provisions) Bill?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I would refer the hon. and gallant Member to the answer given by my right hon. Friend in reply to his question of the 17th of July.

Major OWEN

Is it not possible for this Bill to be reintroduced this Session in order to deal with a question which is extremely urgent, and concerns imminent danger in many districts throughout the country? It is non-controversial.

Mr. CHURCHILL

The question is urgent no doubt, but unhappily it is also controversial.

Mr. THURTLE

This question was addressed to the Prime Minister, and the right hon. Gentleman did not say that he was replying on behalf of the Prime Minister; I am wondering what office he is now occupying.
