HC Deb 22 January 1929 vol 224 c18
14. Mr. NAYLOR (for Mr. DAY)

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the recent decision against football competitions, he will consider the appointment of a Committee to investigate the existing laws governing this subject and other competitions, with a view to introducing legislation legalising them?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir William Joynson-Hicks)

I asked the hon. Member for Central Southwark (Mr. Day) to postpone this question, and I understood that the hon. Member had complied with my request.

Mr. NAYLOR

May I explain? The hon. Member probably agreed to postpone the question after the consultation which we had on the matter.
