HC Deb 25 February 1929 vol 225 cc1575-6
73. Sir R. THOMAS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the continual economic disturbance caused by fluctuating rates of credit, he will take early steps to reopen international discussion of the question of stabilising the value of gold, as recommended by the Genoa Conference?

Mr. SAMUEL

I would refer the hon. Member to the replies given to the hon. Member for West Leicester (31r. PethickLawrence) on the 13th November and the 6th December last, of which I am sending him copies. He will see that the problem is under consideration by the Financial Committee of the League of Nations.
