HC Deb 25 February 1929 vol 225 c1570
58. Dr. DAVIES

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that during the years 1917 and 1918 certain amenities with regard to the hygiene of crews' spaces were enforced in standard ships; and will ho state whether these same amenities are still enforced by the Board of Trade?

Mr. H. WILLIAMS

The crew space arrangements on standard ships during the War were to some extent in excess of the Regulation requirements of that time, and the present improved requirements are frequently exceeded on ships built now.

Mr. KELLY

Do these conditions apply to the vessels of Trinity House?

Mr. WILLIAMS

I must have notice of that question.
