HC Deb 18 February 1929 vol 225 c764
16 and 30. Sir NICHOLAS GRATTANDOYLE

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs (1) whether it is proposed that the Empire Marketing Board should stage an exhibition at the North-East Coast exhibition to be held at Newcastle-on-Tyne this year;

(2) the President of the Board of Trade whether he is making any arrangements for a Government exhibit at the North-East Coast exhibition to be held at Newcastle-on-Tyne from May to October this year?

M r. ORMSBY-GORE

On behalf of the Empire Marketing Board, the Department of Overseas Trade is now erecting a pavilion at the North-East Coast Exhibition, Newcastle-on-Tyne. The pavilion, which will be open during the whole of the Exhibition, will house a collective exhibit of United Kingdom, Dominion and Colonial produce, which will be provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, the Empire Marketing Board and by Dominion and Colonial Governments.

Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

In thanking my right hon. Friend for the answer, may I ask whether the work is already started?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

I believe so.
