§ 31. Mr. T. WILLIAMSasked the President of the Board of Education how many children obtained free places in secondary schools in the West Riding of Yorkshire area in the last year for which figures are available, and the number of places obtained by fee-paying students?
§ Lord E. PERCYOf the entrants to secondary schools in the West Riding of Yorkshire during the school year 1927–28, 1,963 children obtained free places, 49 were otherwise exempt from the payment of tuition fees, and 1,254 paid fees.
