§ The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir William Joynson-Hicks)The police make use of the ambulances of over 60 different agencies, including the St.. John Ambulance Association, 42 urban district councils and 13 borough councils, and it is only in very rare cases that any difficulty occurs in arranging for the expeditious removal of injured persons to hospital.
