asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the total number of persons who have been evacuated by Royal Air Force aeroplanes from Kabul; and whether he can give the nationality of these persons?

The following men, women and children were evacuated from Kabul by the Royal Air Force between 23rd December, 1928, and 11th February, 1929:

British subjects … 216
Afghans … 32
French … 11
Germans … 34
Italians … 4
Persians … 19
Roumanians … 1
Swiss … 1
Syrians … 5
Turks … 42
United States citizens … 1
Making a total of 366, of whom some 280 were women and children.
