Lieut.-Colonel ACLAND-TROYTEasked the Minister of Health the number of boards of guardians which have forwarded him resolutions urging that authority should be given to chairmen of parish councils or to guardians to grant relief, excluding relief in money, in sudden and urgent cases; and whether he will introduce an amendment to Clause 6 of the Local Government Bill giving county councils the power to include such authority in their administrative schemes?
Mr. CHAMBERLAIN47 boards of guardians have forwarded resolutions on this subject, but, as I have indicated in reply to earlier questions, I see no reason for altering the present arrangements in this matter.
