§ 43. Sir ROBERT NEWMANasked the Minister of Health with regard to the schemes which have been submitted to the Ministry by county boroughs and other local authorities for building new maternity and child-welfare centres, whether in cases where the schemes have been already approved by the Ministry on the principle of a 50 per cent. grant, that undertaking will be adhered to by the Ministry if the local authority so desire it?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINNo, Sir. The grants for maternity and child-welfare other than the training of midwives and health visitors will be wholly discontinued after 31st day of March, 1930, and will be absorbed in the now grants to be given under the Bill.
