HC Deb 04 February 1929 vol 224 cc1406-7
69. Mr. HARRIS

asked the President of the Board of Education whether it is with the approval of the Board that a class room in a council school in Dorset- shire is being used during school hours for denominational instruction; and why, in view of Section 28 of the Education Act, 1921, this is permitted?

Lord E. PERCY

The recent inquiry from the Dorsetshire Local Education Authority, to which no doubt the hon. Member's question refers, related to possible arrangements which might be considered not to contravene Section 28 of the Education Act, 1921. In point of fact, I have no knowledge of a case in which a classroom in a council school in Dorsetshire is being used during school hours for denominational instruction.
