§ Mr. MANDERI gave notice to the Minister concerned that on the Consoli- 1780 dated Fund Bill I intended to raise several points in connection with the National Radium Trust, but there was so much noise that I did not hear the Consolidated Fund Bill going through and, therefore, I omitted to do so. There is no representative of the Government here, in spite of the fact that I gave notice early this afternoon to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Health, and it is not of much use to pursue the matter in her absence. I do not know why the Government have taken no notice of the intimation that these matters were going to be raised. Perhaps the Secretary of State for Scotland is not fully competent to deal with the affairs of the Radium Trust, but if he will undertake to give me an answer on the questions I propose to submit, I shall be glad to pursue the subject. I expect, however, that he has been so occupied with the troubles of the fishing industry in Scotland and other matters that the affairs of the Radium Trust may have escaped his attention during the last few weeks. At any rate I hope he will be good enough to convey to the Minister of Health or the Parliamentary Secretary my regret that it is not possible for any representative of the Department to be here to deal with the important points I proposed to raise and that on a future occasion they will assist in the elucidation of these matters.
