HC Deb 17 December 1929 vol 233 c1191
39. Mr. MANDER

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in order to present profiteering, the Government is prepared to adopt the procedure of investigation and control recommended by the Royal Commission on Trusts in 1919?

Mr. W. GRAHAM

I can add nothing at present to the answers which I gave to questions in this House on 5th November, of which I am sending the hon. Gentleman a copy.

Mr. MANDER

Would the right hon. Gentleman say whether one of the articles which is to be investigated will be coal?

Mr. GRAHAM

In the statement that I made on 5th November I indicated clearly that the Government had taken a most comprehensive view of its duties on this point, and I think that nothing which is material to the ordinary day-to-day life of the community will be overlooked.
