HC Deb 12 December 1929 vol 233 cc632-3
23. Captain PETER MACDONALD

asked the Minister of Labour whether she will consider calling a conference of business men with a view to finding some better means of utilising the unemployment fund?

Miss BONDFIELD

No, Sir. The uses to which the Unemployment Fund may be put are prescribed by Statute, and cannot be altered without further legislation, which has to be discussed and decided in Parliament.
