HC Deb 09 December 1929 vol 233 c28
42. Captain Sir GEORGE BOWYER

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he intends to take over all medical and surgical treatment of ex-service men, providing, where necessary, full-time medical officers for the purpose?

Mr. ROBERTS

My Department has authority under the Royal Warrants to provide such treatment only as is not otherwise provided. I could not, therefore, adopt the course suggested by the hon. and gallant Member without duplicating other statutory arrangements for the provision of treatment which are in operation under the National Health Insurance Acts and other enactments.
