§ 16. Mr. TAYLORasked the Minister of Health whether he has received the observations of the Godstone Rural Dis- 1043 trict Council on the petition presented to him by 49 applicants for cottages in the area, and supported by a covering letter signed by the rectors of the parishes, the four medical practitioners in the district, and a number of representative local government electors; if so, what is the nature of the council's comment; and whether he will take steps to hold an inquiry into the housing conditions in the parishes of Oxted and Limps-field unless he receives a satisfactory assurance that the necessary number of houses will be erected by the council?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI have been informed by the district council that the matter has been referred to a special committee for investigation, and that it is expected that this committee will be in a position to report to the council on the 17th May. On receipt of the council's reply, I will consider what further action may be necessary.
