HC Deb 27 November 1928 vol 223 cc235-6
68. Sir R. HAMILTON

asked the Postmaster-General if he can make a state- ment as to the present position of wireless telephony and as to the likelihood of its introduction in the near future as a means of communication with outlying islands round the coasts of Scotland?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

Experiments with wireless apparatus are being conducted, but there is at present no known system capable of being worked at a cost which would justify its installation for communication with small outlying islands.
